Ottawa 67's to Pay Tribute to Canadian Forces

Feb. 17, 2009 (Ottawa ON.) - The Ottawa 67’s Hockey Club will host over 700 of members of the Canadian Forces (CF) and their families this Friday night when the team takes-on the Kitchener Rangers at the Ottawa Civic Centre.  The team’s 7th annual CF Appreciation Night will provide CF families with a fun night out and give 67’s fans a chance to shout their appreciation for the service to Canada that CF members are providing.
 
The evening will commence with a pre-game ceremony that features a Flag Party and welcoming address by the Commandant, Canadian Forces Support Unit, Ottawa - Captain (Navy) Lynn Bisson.  Captain (Navy) Bisson and National Defence Headquarters Chief Warrant Officer Michel Ouellet will then take part in a Ceremonial Puck Drop.  The starting time for the game is 7:30 PM.

CF Appreciation Night is a joint venture between the 67’s and corporate sponsors that purchased tickets for distribution to CF families.  Fans are urged to show their support by wearing red to the game.

Family Day with the Ottawa 67s and RBC

February  13, 2009 (Ottawa,ON) - The Ottawa 67's and RBC are celebrating Family Day by hosting a free community skate with 67’s players. Kids and parents, grandparents and friends are invited to the Brian Kilrea Arena this coming Monday February 16 (the Family Day holiday), to take a twirl around the ice and spend some quality time together.

Free skate times and Ottawa 67's player appearances are as follows:

1:00pm-1:45pm (Cody Lindsay, Tyler Toffoli, Derek
Hartwick)

2:00pm-2:45pm (Jon Carnevale, Chris
Perugini, Ryan Martindale)

3:00pm-3:45pm (Anthony Nigro, Travis
Gibbons, Brian Birkhoff)
 
The Brian Kilrea arena is located at 2185 Arch Street, off Walkley near Canterbury Park.

Junior Senators defeat Rangers, lose to Stallions in Weekend CJHL Action

The Ottawa Junior Senators split their weekend games, defeating the Gloucester Rangers 6-1 in road action before losing to the Kanata Stallions 5-2 at home on Sunday. The Junior Senators are in a tight playoff race, and host the Hawkesbury Hawks at Jim Durrell Arena Wednesday evening at 7:30pm.

67s drop weekend finale to Frontenacs 8-6

The Ottawa 67s lost the final game of their three game weekend schedule 8-6 to the Kingston Frontenacs on home ice. Logan Couture lead the 67s in scoring with 1 goal and 3 assists. Defenceman Travis Gibbons scored two goals for the home team.

The 67s next game is at home against the Peterborough Petes on Friday February 13th at 7:30pm.

67s defeat Generals in overtime 3-2

The Ottawa 67s defeated the Oshawa Generals 3-2 in OHL action this afternoon. Thomas Kiriakou scored at 3:45 of the extra frame for the 67s, who split the first two games of their three game weekend schedule. The 67s play their final game of the weekend Sunday afternoon at the Civic Centre, when they host the Kingston Frontenacs.
